With 2022 a record-breaking year seeing over half a TRILLION dirhams of property transactions taking place, there has never been a better time to join the Dubai Real Estate market.
The Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan combines a series of initiatives in a bid to continue growing this ever-evolving economy with Real Estate playing a huge part. The new Golden Visa, Freelance Visa and AED2 Million Property Investor Visa means that more people than ever are relocating to what is now the biggest business hub in the world.
On top of this, Dubai plans to increase the population from 3.3 million as it is now, up to 7.8 million people during this time. And guess what they will all need? A Real Estate agent to help them find a home!
So, how can you not only join this booming industry but make your new career a success?
1. Find the right agency for you
There are currently over 1,700 agencies listed on PropertyFinder, so how do you choose the right agency for you? Ensuring you choose a well-established agency with a strong presence and positive reputation in the market should be your first priority. You should also choose an agency that understands the importance of a solid foundation. Informative and interactive initial and ongoing training, a knowledgeable and supportive management team, all the tools and resources necessary to equip you to do the role to the highest possible standard, and a positive work environment are all vital to your success as a new agent.
Visa, medical insurance, marketing and admin support should all be provided as standard with no additional terms, conditions or fees.
2. Obtain your RERA Broker Licence.
Not only does this ensure you are fully aware and up to date on current market trends, compliance, rules and regulations, but having your licence enables you to do your new role effectively. You will be asked to provide this for listings and viewings, so it is best to obtain your licence as quickly as possible. This consists of a 4-day course with the International Real Estate Institution (IREI) and passing an exam on completion of the course.
3. Become a Community Expert.
Knowledge is power so ensure that you do as much research on your specialist area as possible. By focusing on your specialist area, you can not only become an expert on the buildings and local amenities, but you can ensure that you become the go to agent in this area. Spend time in your community to find the best places to eat, drink, socialise, work out etc., so you are able to highlight and understand the key selling points to your clients.
4. Build Your Brand.
It’s not enough to be the best at what you do, you must be the best known. Through the power of social media and community building, you can showcase your area expertise and gain additional exposure to the market. Remember to be authentic, honest and add value to your target audience for best results!
5. Network, Network, Network!
Dubai is known for its world class golf courses, beautiful malls and Michelin star restaurants. Get out and about! You do not need to spend a fortune but by utilising your hobbies as networking opportunities you will be able to meet likeminded people, build relationships and create a database of potential future clients. It is also a good idea to meet as many Dubai Real Estate agents as possible so you can cross sell and work together creating more opportunity.
